Engineering Project lead

1 Scope

Reporting directly to the Engineering Program Manager, the Engineering Project Lead is expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgement. This role requires extensive experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from Concept through to End of Life. The role is based in Murarrie, Brisbane.

2 Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Lead projects for the full lifecycle; on time, within budget and meeting business requirements. • Accountable for all cross-functional project requirements, specifying quality of the deliverables,

estimating resources and timescales. • Leading work on certification and type approvals; liaising with national approval bodies.

  • Interpretating standards and providing engineering rationale to support the certification of a DC


• Escalating issues and communicating risks to the Engineering Program Manager. • Prepare weekly and monthly project reporting to communicate project status internally and for the

customer. • Preparation and review of engineering documentation and reports to support compliance activities.

3 Qualifications and Competencies

  • Degree level in an engineering discipline; electrical / electronics, software, or firmware.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  • Extensive experience in leading and delivering technical projects.
  • Strong understanding and proven track record of following engineering lifecycles, processes and using standards to inform engineering decisions.
  • Experience with assessments of EMC and in compliance engineering of new products in a regulated


  • Highly motivated and organised self-starter with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous in approach.
  • Customer driven with a desire to deliver outcomes at the right cost, first time right.
  • Enjoys fast-paced and high-pressure environments.

  • Flexibility to support team-mates and colleagues with program deliverables outside of own role.
  • Written and spoken English minimum CEFR level C1, additional languages also useful.
