Job Description

New Position: Supplier Relations Managers

Division: Commercial

Job type: Supplier Relations Manager

Location: Australia / UK / US

The Who

Back in 1988, our founders had an ambitious dream to form the largest independent travel specialist in the world and to set the example of how touring and travel should be done. The belief that travel is one of the most emotive experiences you undertake and our ambition to make this experience the absolute best it can be for the traveller, has become the guiding principle for TAG.

We believe that through a bespoke, high-touch, personal service we can alleviate the stress and complexity of travel, meaning whether it is a business meeting to close a deal, an event to meet industry peers or a gig for 50,000 screaming fans, we will get our clients to where they need to be feeling ready to take on the world.

The Why

At TAG experience matters. We need to have relationships with the best hotels and ancillary services in the US. We want to be able to delight our clients with the range of suppliers we work with, knowing them intimately and being able to meet whatever requests get thrown our way.

Working with the best, means being able to supply our clients with the best experience, thus changing the way people think about travel management.

You should want to continually improve and elevate the experience of people engaging with TAG, our brand and our suppliers.

The What

As Strategic Supplier Relations Manager, you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:

  • Supplier relationships: Develop and maintain beneficial working relationships with key suppliers and clients. You will ensure individual client or supplier programs and commercial agreements are supported
  • Contract negotiations: Strategically manage the contract negotiations of all hotel and ancillary suppliers for your region's offices to maximize TAG incentives
  • Preferred Partnership program: Strategically grow and develop the program, identifying specific regional properties as suitable candidates
  • Supplier Meetings: Participate in office-based and off-site client or supplier meetings including presentations, networking events, site visits and functions
  • Training: Deliver TAG PSP and PSP-PRO training sessions to all your regional offices
  • Reporting: Collate hotel statistics analysis and provide relevant and accurate reports, from which you can seek ways to improve functionality within Supplier Relations department team and suggest ideas for improved practices companywide
  • Request for pricing: Assist with managing the Request for Pricing process including the distribution of requests and loading of hotel rate updates to Majic datastore when required
The How

To be successful at TAG is as much about mindset and attitude as it is about skill set and qualifications. We’re a team who share the same desire and passion to go above and beyond for each and every client. We revel in making the seemingly impossible possible, always rising to the challenge with ambition and a genuine, open attitude.

You will be working closely with the Director of Commercial as part of the Global Supplier Relations team . Exceptional customer service and an ability to communicate, both in writing and verbally, with people at different levels, both internally and externally is essential. We work flexibly to accommodate our suppliers, meaning on occasion there could be requirements ‘outside of office hours’.

As Strategic Supplier Relations Manager you will need to have previous experience working in hotel procurement or sales. There are some tools we’d like you to have experience of, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important

  • Majic: We use the Majic datastore for hotel rates and distribution of requests.
  • Sharepoint: This is a major internal communication channel for us. You will be required to post updates, office training sessions and incentives on here regularly
  • Office 365
The Where and When

This is a full-time (35 hours a week) role based in our Los Angeles offices. Since March 2020 we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.

You will report into the Commercial Director (US) who is also based in LA. There are regional Supplier Relations teams based in the UK and Australia.
