The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists to begin your career with the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) as a Customer Experience Officer (CEO). As a CEO you will assist a diverse range of the Australian public, while working in a high energy contact centre environment.

CEO’s are highly trained in Australia’s workplace relations system, and provide the Australian public with complex information on wages, leave, COVID-19 workplace laws and other entitlements over the phone and in writing. CEO’s empower their customers with knowledge, resources and practical solutions to resolve their issues.

Candidates who have studied human resources, industrial relations, arts, policy and law would be well suited.

Multiple positions are available, and will be offered initially as a 12 month contract, with the possibility of converting to permanent employment during the 12 months.

All positions are expected to commence in late January 2022. We anticipate the recruitment assessment stages, including interviews, to take place from November 2021. Please ensure you have access to your email during this time.

You will be a confident communicator, that can guide customers through complex enquiries. You need to be able to think on your feet, respond to rapid fire questions and be able to adapt your communication style to suit your customer. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach, and be solution orientated.

Most of all, you will be someone who can pick up new things quickly, roll with change and strive to learn as much as you can to excel in the role. You will embrace feedback with an open mind to continually better your skills.
