Our team is responsible for the B2B domain in our flagship product Support. The team’s mission is to optimize the in-product, customer and developer experience for B2B’s using Zendesk.

Be part of a team of intelligent, dedicated, highly empathic engineers who own their products and share a vision for what they build
Engage with Product Owners, Designers, Security and Operations across all phases of the software lifecycle
Continuously improve your own and your teammates’ technical ability via mentoring, PR reviews and feedback
Successfully move code changes through development and QA stages to production
Actively seek to continually improve our infrastructure, code and processes
Write reliable, reusable and practical code for the high availability services that Zendesk provides
Proficiency in Ruby and any other object-oriented programming languages
You love writing beautifully clean, efficient and maintainable code and are committed to maintaining high availability and performance standards
You care about making our systems better, such as refactoring code to conform to SOLID principles and improving service uptime
Strong passion for learning and imparting knowledge
Good communication skills, both written and verbal - you’ll collaborate with our other product teams around the globe
Problem-solving is central to everything you enjoy about your profession. You can talk to product people, and can help translate their goals into something that is technically achievable
You've had some exposure to datastores such as MySQL, Redis, distributed streaming platforms like Kafka etc and have practical experience with Cloud services (we use AWS)
We primarily work in Ruby on Rails
Our frontend is in React, being migrated from Ember, preferring new components to be written in TypeScript
Our services connect with other services via a combination of gRPC, REST APIs and Kafka event streams
Our services are deployed to Kubernetes using Docker, running on AWS. We don’t require previous experience with these specific technologies; we’re confident you can learn as we go
