About Us

The Monash Health Pathology Service operates under the brand name of Monash Pathology and is an integral part of Monash Health. It is one of the largest providers of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 5 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional facilities being located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 17 collection centres based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Medical Scientist, Grade 1 until the end of June 2022 to carry out duties related to the Monash node of the Victorian Cancer Biobank. We are seeking a dedicated scientist to join our team, working in all areas of the Biobank to provide an efficient, caring and professional service. This is a Full Time Fixed Term position.

About You

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (MLS) or recognised equivalent. Experience in a multidisciplinary laboratory is desirable, especially histopathology. Good clinical practice knowledge will be advantageous.

This will be by providing a copy of your immunisation history statement, which can be accessed via My Gov, or evidence that you have a vaccination appointment before 1 November 2021. This evidence will need to be uploaded to the E Recruit system.

Selection Criteria Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine) or recognised equivalent

Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent attention to detail, thoroughness and completion of task

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good clinical practice knowledge will be advantageous

Experience in a multidisciplinary laboratory will be advantageous
