Your Role

The Brand Strategy team, which is a part of Global Business Marketing, is looking for a Brand Strategist. The ideal candidate has a strong pulse on the digital and social cultural world, including an ability to identify and understand key trending and popular topics, including but not limited to sounds, music, effects, hashtags, etc. that impact brands, the community, and world of advertising. You are an expert in mining and interpreting trends, insights, and cultural moments impacting the industry, brands, and TikTok platform.

You have an appetite for learning, deal well with ambiguity, and are comfortable working both independently and with cross-functional + regional stakeholders to drive creativity and platform innovation for TikTok. You have a knack for bringing narratives to life through trends and insights.


  • Work with the team to develop platform vision for brands’ presence on TikTok, and provide the inspiration, blueprint, analysis, and leadership to realise your proposed vision;
  • Analyse trend data over period of time to formulate and write compelling narratives, reports or thought leadership pieces on how trends on TikTok inform and impact industries, businesses, products, and advertising.
  • Have deep awareness and understanding of digital culture as it exists across all social and content platforms, and a keen eye to articulate how trends and culture weave their way through these mediums, and using those cultural moments in narratives where relevant.
  • Plan and execute strategic playbooks for different industries and verticals, generate insights, ideas and strategies that further media partnerships with major businesses;
  • Work with the product, research, and measurement teams to develop, test, execute and measure product solutions for specific brand and agency clients;
  • Utilise internal and external databases and research platforms (GWI, App Annie, Euromonitor, etc) to generate user insights, and use that data insight to suggest media planning and inform future proposals;
  • Strong knowledge of the platform to educate clients in creative approaches, including insights on how users use the platform, evolving advertising formats and the correlated measurement for success.
  • Able to clearly define and articulate problem statements, distill information, and develop tactics from strategy.
  • Able to connect the dots and provide input, create, and explain a narrative.
  • Contribute to larger team projects, narratives or marketing collateral that need a specific lens that only your expertise in trends and content can provide.

  • BA/BS degree with 5 - 10 years’ experience in strategy/marketing at agency, publisher, or client
  • Experience in building creative digital media solutions at scale that drives brand awareness and high user engagement;
  • Proved ability to utilise multiple data tools to build platform insight and consumer analysis;
  • Excellent skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Knowledge of media syndicated research
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, especially the mobile, social landscape in AUS;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Self-starter, fast learner who is detail-oriented and has critical thinking;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team across different departments.
