Senior Analyst, Fund Regulatory Reporting Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2022

Business Unit

AMP Capital is a specialist investment manager with over $140 billion in funds under management. Its head office is in Australia and it has offices in 10 locations outside Australia. Its principal client is the AMP Group and around 70% of the funds under management are managed on behalf of this client. The AMP Capital Holdings Limited group includes over 30 separate legal entities across 9 different countries.

The Fund Regulatory Reporting team (FRR) within AMP Capital mainly looks after 2 processes:

  • ASIC RG97 reporting
  • APRA asset allocation

The team has a bespoke system/application that supports the above reporting obligations

Purpose of the Role:

  • Perform fund regulatory reporting activities on a timely basis ensuring delivery of accurate and complete information.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the regulations such as RG97 and APRA asset allocations.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of revenue and cost drivers of funds.
  • Respond to queries from internal or external clients in relation to fees and fund asset allocation
  • Significant reputational impact if there are errors.
  • Liaise with Client Services, Global Product, Fund Accounting and Project Team to complete the half yearly RG97 fees and cost deliverables and APRA asset allocation deliverables
  • Complete the RG97 activities accurately and within prescribe timeframes for AMPC funds
  • Complete the APRA activities accurately and within prescribe timeframes, primarily for AMPC funds

What we look for in you

  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial services industry, ideally in regulatory reporting in a large corporate environment or with audit background
  • CA / CPA qualified
  • Knowledge of finance systems/packages with strong excel skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and changing regulatory environment
  • Transforming processes – experience improving core processes, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of work

As an ideally candidate you will be an analytical thinker and problem solver, as well as exceptional communicator where you can make the complex financial language simpler and audience specific. Your excellent risk management and control skills will add value to your role as well as understanding of accounting fundaments
