The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of it’s kind in Australia. About the Opportunity

Aboriginal history and tradition has been passed from generation to generation in a variety of ways using a variety of media. One of the most iconic has been through stories and art. VACCA is looking for the service of a Content Producer to assist us share our stories and information using film and digital media, with the focus on making our content entertaining, informative, and engaging.

Our visions and goals to assist the aboriginal community will shape the content, our aboriginality will shape the style, and you will assist to fuse these things together to share our stories.

Some other key tasks in this role might include:

  • Provide support with monitoring digital marketing campaigns, including engaging with community on VACCA’s social platforms, collaborating on reporting and scheduling.
  • Running classes/youth activities for clients and community members in film, photography, and other digital mediums.
  • Work with the Senior Communications Advisor to conduct regular analysis to inform content creation and enhance delivery of content, and comprehensive reporting to ensure continued engagement, and optimal performance for digital channels.
  • Work alongside the Senior Communications Advisor, Senior Multimedia Specialist and Senior Graphic Designer to proactively plan, develop and produce content for VACCA’s external and internal channels, including social media, website, intranet and email

What you require?

To make the most of this exciting role, some of the following qualifications, skills and qualities would be desirable:

  • Qualifications in film, photography, creative or digital arts.
  • Previous experience in developing end to end multimedia projects or a digital communications or marketing role which included online/visual content development (web content, digital copy writing, social media, video or audio production)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal affairs, both in a federal and Victorian context, and/or knowledge and understanding of the community services or child and family welfare sector.
  • A full Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Working With Children Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain
  • Energy, Proactivity and the ability to work autonomously
  • A desire to listen to, develop and creatively adapt the knowledge, traditions and that are shared with you into creative, entertaining and engaging media projects
