About the Position

The Administration Officer/ Receptionist will work in the Children’s Services Unit (CSU). The CSU is a group of programs designed to support individuals, families and children. Our services aim is to build parenting capacity that is sustained long term through the provision of family supports, therapeutic interventions, the development of parenting and relationship skills and connection to community resources.


The Administration Officer/Receptionist is part of the CSU’s small Administration Team which is located between Salisbury / Seaton / Southern sites. The Administration Team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer services, strong and effective relationships with stakeholders with an emphasis on great communication, friendliness and a dynamic team approach.


The Administration Officer/Receptionist is responsible for:

  • High quality customer service - First impressions - meet, greet and welcome clients and visitors in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Treat all clients with respect and equality, whilst being responsive and sensitive to their needs, demonstrate an awareness of diverse cultural needs
  • Handle incoming calls and route them to appropriate people/programs
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond appropriately to enquiries from clients, colleagues, other services and the general community, maintaining confidentiality on all issues relating to the organisation, clients and colleagues.
  • Support managers, staff and clients with other administrative tasks as required

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:


Essential Criteria

  • Outgoing, friendly personality with the ability to relate to and communicate with people from all different cultures, including young children, parents and staff
  • Demonstrate experience in providing a broad range of administration skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-faceted team environment along with proven ability to work independently
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’).
  • Ability to do some work outside of standard hours when required
  • Ability to backfill other administration roles within CSU across alternative locations within Adelaide metropolitan area.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using Athena Penelope electronic client management system
  • Experience working in the non-for-profit or community services sector
  • First Aid Certificate
