  • Assign diagnosis, morbidity, clinical, procedure and mortality data and codes to cancer persons records, through performing the following:
  • Reviewing cancer notifications and abstracting relevant information in accordance with current standards
  • Reviewing and verifying the cancer information to ensure that it is timely, accurate and consistently coded cancer data.
  • Use of state and hospital wide computer applications to assist in completion of coding for e.g. QOOL-R, HBCIS, pathology, The Viewer, iEMR
  • Input codes into the QOOL-R computer system
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of clinical coding under the direction of the Senior Clinical Coder with the aim of meeting coder competency standards.
