Job Description


Macquarie University International College (MUIC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Information Communication Technology Teacher, with expertise in programming and information systems and an eye for detail.   • Salary: From $73,696 to $103,788 p.a. plus 17% super
  • Appointment type: Full-time, fixed-term – 22 November 2021 to 3 February 2023
  • Location: Macquarie University (North Ryde)


The Information Communication Technology (ICT) Teacher motivates, inspires, and educates international and domestic students in Diploma of Information Technology units. Working closely with Senior Teachers, Coordinators and Teachers, the ICT Teacher works proactively within a flexible and fast-paced environment, by using initiative, anticipating requirements and ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. Units to be taught are determined in accordance with your qualifications, areas of expertise and experience but could include WCOM1750 (Introduction to Business Information Systems), WCOM1300 (Introduction to Cyber Security), WCOM1350 (Introduction to Database Design and Management), WCOM1000 (Introduction to Computer Programming), WCOM1010 (Fundamentals of Computer Science) and WCOM1011 (Introduction to Video Games).   • Sound understanding of Information Technology (at least two of the areas of programming, information systems, cyber security, or game design) as demonstrated by qualifications and/or professional competency;
  • At least 2 years full time equivalent teaching experience in those disciplines in a range of Australian contexts and including 2 years full time equivalent experience teaching students from a range of non-English speaking backgrounds in pathway programs and tertiary settings;
  • Demonstrated experience in development and administration of assessments, results collation and participation in assessment quality control processes (such as participation in moderation, standardisation, validation, cross marking, peer marking);
  • Experience in development and improvement of curricula and associated materials and resources;
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in a blended learning environment and using a range of learning technologies;
  • Experience working in a team-teaching environment, collaborating with or coordinating other teaching staff;
  • Demonstrated experience completing administrative tasks in an academic environment .
