Plus, we deliver world-class research and provide expertise in diagnostic, transplantation and other clinical services.

Everyone at Lifeblood is united through the power of humanity to build a healthier nation.

Lifeblood has exciting life-giving opportunities for you:

We're seeking a Donor Services Nursing Assistant (Phlebotomist) who have fantastic customer-facing experience and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service that inspire customers to return time and again.

You can be rest assured that it's not a requirement to have previously worked in healthcare, as we provide you with 10 weeks of paid, on-the-job training to ensure you have the skills and confidence to safely, efficiently and comfortably insert and remove needles to collect valuable blood and blood products. Plus, you’ll have the option to further your studies by completing a Certificate III in Pathology.

Just imagine yourself joining our friendly and supportive Mt Waverley Donor Centre in this rewarding role. You’ll warmly welcome and provide all of our amazing donors with a safe, comfortable and enjoyable donation experience. You will undertake assessments to ensure donors are eligible to donate. You will monitor and support donors during their donation and while in our Donor Centre, as well as assist them rebook for their next donation.

This opportunity at our Mt Waverley Donor Centre is a permanent part time position working 64 hours per fortnight. You will be working a variety of shifts which range from 6 – 10 hours, but we’ll let you know around 4 - 6 weeks in advance the days and times you will be working. The earliest or latest you will start may vary, but have a look at our Donor Centre hours here. If you add 30 minutes to 1 hour before and after these centre operation times, this will be a good indication of our shift times.

Helping you to thrive both in and out of work:

As a Lifeblood employee, you can trust that we have your best interests at heart. Whether it’s workplace safety or work/life balance, we understand there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to wellbeing, which is why we’ve developed a range of initiatives to look after the varying needs of our people.

We offer great conditions of employment and generous salary packaging programs which allow you to make the most of your salary. We also have a rewards program offering discounts on movies, groceries, food & beverage, department stores and travel & leisure, as well as discounted health insurance, veterinary care and car hire.

We are a diverse and inclusive bunch and we encourage a heartfelt culture. We’re proud to foster an environment where all people can come together to achieve their very best.

Next steps:

Our recruitment process is fast-paced, so we aim to build a talent community. This means we progress suitable candidates through the hiring process as soon as we can. If your application is suitable but the role is filled prior to the advertising close date, you can rest assured that we will keep in touch and consider you for the next similar opportunity.

Because we are a regulated environment, as part of our recruitment process, you’ll be required to complete and clear a national (and in some cases, international) criminal history check, medical assessment, employment history check, and a validation of Australian working rights but don’t worry, we will help you through this process.
