Job Description

The Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner (VLSB+C) is the regulator of Victoria's legal profession. We are responsible for regulating lawyers by the granting of legal practitioner licences, as well as investigating and acting upon public enquiries and complaints.

About the Position
We are currently looking for an Investigator to join our Discipline & Suitability team within the Investigations Division.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Discipline & Suitability, the position handles investigations into complaints about lawyers, their fitness to practice, disciplinary issues, and the related litigation and alternative regulatory responses required. These investigations and complaints are handled in a manner that is mindful of the needs to progress matters in a timely and appropriate fashion, and to provide good communication with all stakeholders.
About You
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation, and strong communication and relationship management skills. The position requires the successful candidate to undertake litigation/prosecutorial actions, including instructing and appearing as required.
