About the Role:

The Mechanical Tradesperson shall work as part of a team to meet the team’s goals with regard to safety, quality, production, cost and continuous improvement. Your success and that of your team is dependent upon members working together toward common goals for which they are mutually accountable.
All team members are expected to support the team co-leaders in the functions they perform to achieve the team goals.

Key Tasks:

  • Participate in risk assessments as required
  • Maintain quality control and inventory records where required.
  • Fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities
  • Fault diagnosing of equipment and Repair and overhaul of equipment
  • Document maintenance activities using Maximo and/or other systems as required.
  • Optimisation of activities to ensure equipment downtime is minimal
  • Reporting of jobs completed via Maximo work orders to capture frequency of repairs on items of plant
  • Discuss proposed improvements with Technical officer / Production leader, and comment on MOC’s as required
  • Reviewing technical drawings with draftsperson, develop necessary amendments and sketches


Certificate III in Engineering in one of the following fields:

  • Fitter and Machinist
  • Mechanical
  • Fabrication


  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Well-developed fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good Communication skills


  • Machining skills and Tool making
  • Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • Welding skills
