About Transport Shared Services

Within the Corporate Services branch of TfNSW is the Transport Shared Services (TSS) responsible to provide business support to more than 26000 customers. Additionally, TSS services over 300,000 external customers ranging from Local Government representatives to citizens. Over the last year, TSS has implemented a strategy to lead the direction of the organisation towards workforce digitisation, emphasising customer experience and growing the business’s value proposition and services.

The opportunity

Right now we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shared Services Consultant to join our team.

The primary purpose of the role is to process a range of banking and revenue and more complex accounts payable or accounts receivables transactions. The SSC role would operate within one of the Receivables and Payables teams at any one point. The role will also provide high-quality and accurate transaction processing and inquiries, ensuring that issues are resolved satisfactorily, speedily, and in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) while meeting service performance targets.

Key accountabilities:

  • Work cooperatively within the Revenue and Banking/ Invoicing and Receipting/ Debt Recovery/ Invoice Processing or Expenses and Payments team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a courteous way, demonstrating a willingness to assist and a commitment to providing
  • Suggest improvements to processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and systems improve efficiency and effectiveness, as well as to accommodate changing legislation and regulations
  • Achieve the required shared services performance levels in terms of customer satisfaction, efficiency and effectiveness of services provided
  • Effectively use a range of computerised systems, technology and telephony solutions to undertake work tasks, triage, refer or escalate work tasks, enter data and maintain up to date records to facilitate work allocation, performance analysis and service improvement

About you

  • Experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or banking and revenue, including the management and resolution of disputes and discrepancies
  • Experience with and sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, accounting principles, standards and policies.
  • Advanced capability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately both orally and in writing.
  • Sound numeracy ability with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and to learn and implement new processes and procedures as new technology, service requirements and work methods emerge.
  • Experience using multiple computer-based systems and the ability to learn new systems with ease

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 5A, $85,103 – 5E $93,616 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
