About your team ...

The Financial Operations (R2R) team is responsible for the Record to Report, ‘R2R’, function for Consumer Australia as well as ensuring SAP supports the R2R function for Optus Enterprise. The team is accountable for ensuring that Financial and Customer related data is appropriately captured within SAP to comply with Accounting and International Standards, supports Optus, Singtel and Regulatory reporting requirements and analysis, and is timely and accurate. The critical objectives of R2R are effective Governance and Control, Valuable Business Partnering, Management of BPO service delivery, and Change Management.

About your role ...

You will be responsible for the effective governance & control frameworks as they relate to Financial Operations business and control processes, overseeing the proper and effective operations of balance sheet controls and systems. You will also partner with the other finance managers, business partners and the business to ensure effective change management to support the efficient and effective operationalisation of business initiatives and other changes (e.g., new product launches).

Additionally, you will ensure there is effective execution of governance and controls, valuable business partnering, management of the BPO and appropriate change management within a highly complex, fast moving environment.

Your key ingredients for success ...

  • Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance, with CA / CPA qualifications;
  • A Big 4 and/or Large Corporate pedigree with solid Finance Control / Management experience to date (Telco advantageous);
  • Advanced PC literacy, in particular MS Excel & SAP (or similar);
  • Strong experience in a Financial Control or Governance role, with solid vendor / stakeholder management skills;
  • Advanced technical accounting, analytical, investigative and analytical skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex issues in a concise and logical format;
  • Experience running complex end to end accounting process in large corporate settings; &
  • Proven people leadership, plus change management and excellent prioritisation skills.
