The Opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for creative and motivated individuals with current industry knowledge and experience in Graphic Design to join our team of teachers on a casual basis within the Creative and Design Ideation team located at Lismore Campus.

You will be responsible for constructing, guiding, and enhancing the educational process, delivering educational programs, collaborating with a team of trainers and facilitating learning to enable students to develop high quality professional Graphic Design Skills.

The role of the Teacher involves a broad range of activities which include:

  • Providing appropriate variety and flexibility in educational practice
  • Contributing to decision making that affects the learning environment
  • Participating cooperatively in the development and implementation of agreed quality improvement processes by reflecting on experience and evaluation of processes and program outcomes.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or a related qualification, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum five years of professional experience within Graphic Design
  • Hold or currently undertaking the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Evidence outlining current and relevant professional experience including a minimum of 8 examples of professional work (within the last 5 years) demonstrating the following:
    • Creativity and innovation
    • Originality
    • Exploration/evidence of work in materials or media relation to the design discipline
    • Professional level of presentation

  • High level written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Commitment and ability to facilitate learning in an adult environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional currency
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment
  • Thorough knowledge and technical expertise relevant to the Graphic Design industry
