Enable and drive ethical business conduct through the effective implementation of the Ethics, Risks and Compliance (ERC) program at the local level. Support for assigned projects or in execution of core ERC Program processes and seeks to identify operational efficiencies and continuous process improvement.

Your Responsibilities:

As the Novartis Ethics, Risk & Compliance officer your role will be to support the organization to transform by ensuring ethics, risk management, and compliance are at the heart of everything we do. Basically, supporting our leaders and associates to do what right!

Under the direction of leadership and in close collaboration with the Director Ethics, Risk & Compliance and representatives from other Functions, your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Support local Country Compliance Head (hereinafter “CCH”) to establish compliance standards based on internal policies and guidelines / implementing procedures (Code of Conduct, BPO, Anti- Bribery [AB] and *P3’s) and on applicable local laws and regulations, including industry code, where applicable.
  • Align local standards with global minimal standards and ensure that in all cases the most exacting is applied.
  • Support establishment of policies, processes and SOPs for relevant policies.
  • Champions speak-up, clarity and a culture of integrity throughout the organization.
  • Champion and support the ERC team in the implementation of the ERC system strategy
  • Be an active champion for ethical conduct and behavior in all interactions

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • University Degree in business or law or other relevant subject matter
  • 2-3 years validated experience in pharmaceutical, device or healthcare industries with relevant exposure to ERC function or related components preferred.
  • Specific or transferable experience in the core expertise area required to support the project/ process.
  • Shown ability to effectively support projects/ processes and collaborate within and across cross-functional matrixed environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Shown presentation and advocacy skills
  • Passion for business integrity topic and outstanding integrity track record
