We are seeking an experienced person to effectively contribute to the provision of Facility and Asset Management Services within the Engineering and Infrastructure Department.

About the Engineering and Infrastructure Team:

Monash Engineering Services provides a strategic asset management function across all Monash Health sites. Utilising a centralised planning strategy and a customer focused approach to provide proactive delivery of infrastructure and asset management, maintenance and repair functions. There are engineering teams based at all our major sites.

About the Role

The engineering team is responsible for a broad range of assets including: HVAC, Electrical, Infrastructure, Medical Gases, etc. Successful candidates will assist in the management and maintenance of these assets, and ensure compliance to the Asset Management Accountability Framework. The role is diverse and will provide cross department exposure with a variety of stakeholders both internal (clinical and engineering), and external (contractors providing maintenance and repair services).

The Technical Officer reports to the relevant Engineering Manager.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Manage the integration of maintenance services and activities to maximise operational effectiveness and cost economy.
  • Ensure the AIMS/ CMMS is maintained with accurate asset data & management procedures are implemented to capture maintenance activities, assets maintenance histories, maintenance costs, etc.
  • Manage minor works projects.
  • Ensure the relevant maintenance contracts are managed effectively & efficiently to meet agreed KPIs.
  • Manage contractor performance in accordance with OHS regulations.
  • Ensure day to day maintenance needs are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Ensure contractor management, procurement practices are followed in accordance with relevant policies & procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate contractual arrangements are in place for assets & infrastructure maintenance in accordance with regulatory compliance.

About You:

You have a technical background with experience in facility and/or asset management and demonstrate a flexible, can-do attitude, and strong organisational, communication and time management skills. Your proactive approach and ability to ‘think on your feet’ when responding to changing demands will serve you well in this dynamic environment.

For this role, we are seeking a candidate with tertiary qualifications in engineering or building services OR alternatively an appropriate trade qualification in electrical or mechanical trade.

You’re an exceptional team player who builds trust readily and you are also highly IT proficient. Previous experience in a large, complex organisation is preferred, as is a healthcare background, but is not considered essential.
