  • Based in Ultimo

Who we are

At TransGrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

With us you will thrive in a collaborative environment where new ideas and knowledge sharing are encouraged, and where you’ll be supported through opportunities to develop and achieve your full potential.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policies outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Project EnergyConnect (PEC) will provide a new high voltage interconnector between New South Wales and South Australia. TransGrid’s portion of the project stretches 700 kilometres from Wagga Wagga to the South Australian border. The project is a critical part of Australia’s energy transition, supporting new large scale renewable generation and the implementation of the AEMO Integrated System Plan (ISP).

The $1.9 billion project has now entered the delivery phase following the award of the EPC Contract in June 2021 with major construction due to start in early 2022.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Program Scheduler to join our Energy Connect Major Projects team. This role will be responsible for the co-ordination, development and review of the project schedule including detailed resource and cost forecasts for the entire project. This will involve interfacing across all project workstreams and the EPC Contractor to maintain an up-to-date program and assist the project team in making informed decisions with regards to delivery risks, critical path and project expenditure.

This role will report to the Project Integration Manager.

  • Review contract delivery schedules to ensure appropriate site management and project coordination services are provided
  • Construct, plan and foresee project delivery risks and develop contingencies to project schedule and numerous activities by continually validating the schedule against the overall project objectives
  • Communicate effectively the outcome of the schedule development or update process by presenting targeted and relevant information from the schedule in effective formats – reporting the right information to the right stakeholders at the right time
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and recommend system improvements to ensure an effective project/ program management system (i.e. current status, future directions and best practice)

Skills & Experience

What we expect from you:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering/project management or extensive, equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive understanding of project management, program administration and reporting in a capital intensive industry.
