Early Childhood Educator/ Behaviour Analyst Intern

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our senior therapy team. We are looking for a driven and experienced educator that would like to continue their professional development in supporting young children with developmental disabilities. You will need to have experience working in a busy, fast paced environment, as well as have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. You will utilise your knowledge and skills as an early childhood educator whilst gaining the knowledge to implement effective strategies for building children's individual skills and learning, as well as learning strategies to effectively support children with behaviours of concern. This position includes formal post graduate studies in Behaviour Analysis and the opportunity to work towards becoming a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst

The Behaviour Analyst Intern will be an integral part of the senior CLIMB team. The role involves:

  • Implementing fun and effective therapy/teaching sessions 1:1, in a group environment for Preschool aged children
  • Taking a lead role in organising and coordinating the daily activities and program
  • Building positive relationships with children and their families
  • Creating and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Delivering professional training to other Early Childhood Educators and Parents
  • Maintaining the clinic setting and resources as needed
  • Writing individual therapy case notes
  • Participating in extensive professional development in ABA to gain an RBT (Registered Behaviour Therapist) and BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst) qualification

We are looking for:

  • Degree level qualification in Early Childhood or a related qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years practical experience working with young children
  • A strong interest in working with children with developmental disabilities
  • A passion for learning and a willingness to take on further study (supported by CLIMB)
  • A high level of professionalism at all times
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to be autonomous
  • Respect for reliability and punctuality

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Internship
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 30-38 per week

Salary: $27.00 – $35.00 per hour
